Dixie Chicks - "Not Ready to Make Nice"

It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

Dixie Chicks - "The Long Way Around"

Well, I fought with a stranger and I met myself
I opened my mouth and I heard myself
It can get pretty lonely when you show yourself
Guess I could have made it easier on myself

But I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

Well, I never seem to do it like anybody else
Maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down
If you ever want to find me I can still be found

Taking the long way
Taking the long way around

A Poem I Wrote (yeah I'm a dork, so what??)

Tay Tay
(early 2015)

She's the one who made it okay
To make something great
Out of heartbreak
There was a long long time in my life
Spent dwelling with pen in hand
Trying to create the perfect mood
To capture all that young love throws at you
Flashbacks and echoes,
They happen to me too
I used to date musicians
Hoping they'd write  about me
But thanks to you, I picked up a guitar
Now here we are, four years gone
And now I'm the one writing songs
When I start talking about Taylor,
All my friends roll their eyes
But what they don't realize
Is things aren't always what they seem
They say pop stars aren't cool
But I know that if we were together,
We'd talk and laugh the whole night through
What more is there to loving someone?
Flashbacks and echoes,
They happen to me too
I used to date musicians
Hoping they'd write  about me
But thanks to you, I picked up a guitar
Now here we are, four years gone
And now I'm the one writing songs
I can picture us, harmonized singing
Trying on lipsticks and mood rings
Summer dresses, cowboy boots
Dancing, dancing, around my room
It's not a guilty pleasure
Since there's no guilt present
Flashbacks and echoes,
They happen to me too
I used to date musicians
Hoping they'd write  about me
But thanks to you, I picked up a guitar
Now here we are, four years gone
And now I'm the one writing songs
Writing on the back of our hands,
Or notebooks, napkins, we don't care
Serial monogamists, true love addicts
So many silly habits that we share
We even got the same curly hair
We're both well-dressed, well-read
Self possessed feminists
Forging our own way
No matter what the critics say
Yeah, yeah, she'll always be my Tay Tay

This is looking like a contest,
Of who can act like they care less,
But I liked it better when you were on my side.

If you said you'd rather love than fight.
So many things that you wish I knew,

You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now
If only you had seen what you know now then

When everything out of reach, someone bigger brought down to you
Wasn't it beautiful runnin' wild 'til you fell asleep
Before the monsters caught up to you?

What I wanted
My friends and enemies

25. Favorite Taylor Swift lyric and its influence on your life.

As simple as it is, this was the performance that made me take her seriously as a musician. My life was forever changed after that performance. I was struck with lightning watching the emotions unfold, hearing the lyrics and realizing - holy shit, this girl gets my soul. It was the first song I ever learned on an instrument (besides like Mary Had a Little Lamb...) and my passion for her songs drove me to learn more and more! I went from being able to play nothing (except Mary Had a Little Lamb on the violin) to playing the bass, the guitar, the ukulele and the banjo - although this isn't my favorite song to play anymore, I'll never forget this scene during the performance when she holds hands with the girls in the crowd.

All I Listen To Is Paramore

So let me tell you a little something about Paramore. They were all the rage with all of my friends for YEARS. Like, everyone loved them. I think when they were coming out, I was just getting more into folk-y stuff and leaving the grungey screamo pop punk shit behind. I scoffed with my nose way high up in the air at ~Paramore~ fans. They were suuuccchhhhhh ~posers~ hahahah.

Then recently I saw this:

And after hearing "Still Into You" I had to listen to their new album. The sound is so different. It was a perfect segway into their old music. Hayley has always had a beautiful vocal range, it was just a little lost in the sea of heavy guitars. It helped bridge the gap and now all I can say is, I LOVE THIS BAND! I LOVE HAYLEY WILLIAMS! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!! hahahaha I'm basically going nuts. I've listened to nothing else but Paramore for the last two weeks. I already know almost all the words to like half of their songs.

Plus to top it all off, me and Hayley both have a celebrity crush on Jason Segel - how fucking random is that? We have way too much in common to be honest... it's spooky.

I'm going to share my favorites. It's going to be difficult but I'll do my best!

Honestly, can you believe
We cross the world while it's asleep
I'd never trade it in, cause I've always wanted this
And it's not a dream anymore
No. It's not a dream anymore
It's worth fighting for

This song is so funny:

And now I’m standing at your doorstep
With Los Angeles behind me.
If you don’t answer I’ll just use the key
That I copied 'cause I really need to see you.

If you're not here when I break in
I’m gonna go to your closet,
Just so I can smell your skin.
As the chemicals swim,
I know I’ll never love again,
I swear I’ll never love again!

Baby, are we over now?
Maybe I can change your mind?
As soon as you walk out my door,
I’m gonna call a hundred times

I'm not bitter anymore
I'm syrupy sweet
I'll rot your teeth down to their core
If I'm really happy

Depends on the day
If I wake up in a giddy haze
Well, I'm not angry
I'm not totally angry
I'm not all that angry anymore
