The Carters - "Summer"

This whole album has NO SKIPS. Meaning.. every single song is worth listening to. Of course I go in and out with favorites, but the entire body of work has me without words to describe the amazingness.... I just can't even.
This song is so sultry and sweet.

cutest lyrics ever award goes to Jay Z:
"If I can stay in her hair forever, that'd be fine by me"

Beyonce - "All Night"

I found the truth beneath your lies
And true love never has to hide
Trade your broken wings for mine
I've seen your scars and kissed your crimes

Beyonce - "Sorry"

Beyonce - "Hold Up"

Holy fuck... you know it's weird, when I was going through serious depression, her song with Lady Gaga got me through. Beyonce is really something else. She's been providing girls like me with raw and empowering music for more than half my life. I love her so much. It makes me cry. Thank you Queen Bee.
All I can say is thank you.

Adia Victoria - "Backwards Blues"

Look at all the signs
Waving in the breeze
Such a silly sight I never thought I'd see

I feel it in the air
It's washing over me
Soon enough the tide
Will drag us all to sea

30 Days, 30 Songs will feature one song per day from October 10 until Election Day. The artists on the playlist (Death Cab for Cutie, R.E.M., Franz Ferdinand) are united in their desire to speak out against the ignorant, divisive, and hateful campaign of Donald Trump. Stay tuned over the coming days as the playlist unfolds, and don't forget to go vote.

Steven Universe - "Here Comes a Thought" from the episode Mindful Education (Season 4)

This song. This episode.

Estelle (did the chorus of "American Boy" - that song with Kanye West) is the voice of Garnet, my favorite Crystal Gem.

AJ Michalka (former Disney Channel star and had a few episodes in Six Feet Under) is the voice of Stevonnie - probably my second favorite character and new #1 favorite singing voice.
